1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
My favorite yarn to knit with is Rowan Calmer and any cashmere yarn. I don’t really like fun fur and really squeaky acrylic yarn.

2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?
I store my circular needles in a lovely holder from Offhand Designs and the Denise and Plymouth interchangeable needles in their original case. I store my straights and double-pointed needles in some cases that my previous Secret Pals (1 & 6) have made for me.

3. How long have you been knitting? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?
I have been knitting for at least 3 years. I made a scarf for my husband 10 years ago when he was my boyfriend and then I started knitting seriously 3 years ago.
I would consider myself an intermediate knitter. I still have lots of skills to learn and master, like fair isle.

4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
I do have an Amazon wish list. It is sort of up-to-date.

5. What’s your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)
My favorite scents are mint, grapefruit, and lily of the valley, though not necessarily at the same time.

6. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy?
I do have a sweet tooth. I love rich dark chocolate and my mother-in-law introduced me to almondolas, which are spiced chocolate covered almonds. I also appreciate squishy gummy bears and Sour Patch Kids.

7. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do? Do you spin?
I like to bake and I dabble in stamping when my sister has stamping parties (sorta like Tupperware parties.)

8. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)
I like all kinds of music such as Orbital, Frou Frou, Death Cab for Cutie, The Shins, Franz Ferdinand, Depeche Mode, and many more. I will always love 80’s new wave too. My computer can play MP3s and I can load them onto my ipod Shuffle too.

9. What’s your favorite color? Or–do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? Any colors you just can’t stand?
I love jewel blue, green, and red. I love colors with depth to them and black.

10. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?
I am married and have a 2 month old son. I don’t have any pets.

11. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos?
I love to wear scarves and mittens or gloves.

12. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?
I love knitting raglan sweaters from the top-down. They require minimal finishing and are quick knits if I can stop starting new projects when I find new patterns or yarn.

13. What are you knitting right now?
I am knitting a hat and I’m 3 socks behind in the Blue Moon Fiber Arts Rockin’ Sock Club. I also have the flower basket shawl, 2 tank tops, and the Rogue sweater on the needles.

14. Do you like to receive handmade gifts?
I love getting handmade gifts. Who doesn’t?

15. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?
I prefer circular needles and am particularly found of my Denise Interchangeable needles.

16. Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift?
I do own a yarn winder and swift.

17. How did you learn to knit?
I learned how to knit from a book, though I recall my older sister showing me how to cast-on and knit a square. She learned from my great-aunt who was always knitting.

18. How old is your oldest UFO?
My oldest UFO is a scarf I made for my husband, then my boyfriend, 9 years ago.

19. What is your favorite holiday?
My favorite holiday is any day that I don’t have to work.

20. Is there anything that you collect?
I only collect yarn, knitting patterns and books, purses, and shoes.

21. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have?
I have a subscription to Interweave Knits and I put the books I want on my Amazon Wish List.

22. Are there any new techniques you’d like to learn?
I took a fair isle class at Stitches West this year and I guess I just need to practice it or take a refresher course. It’s definitely something that I’d like to learn.

23. Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements?
I am a sock knitter and I wear 6.5 shoes but my feet are getting a little swollen now from the pregnancy.

My birthday is May 21st.
